Re: Questions: Remote Broadcast with Smart Phones/ Tablets

For "live" remotes I've had great success with Skype, assuming you have a high-bandwidth LTE connection or can hook up to wi-fi.

NCH's RecordPad app comes in iOS and Android versions and even the free version allows files to be sent in MP3.

For iOS, Twisted Wave can't be beat.

Re: Don't waste your time on Jobs that are not there...

Everyone knows that 99.9999% of jobs posted online are there only for EEO. Networking has always been and is still the best way to get a gig.

"...doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result." -Albert Einstein Yet so many job seekers are doing just that - re-posting their TERRIBLE SW ads VERBATIM and expecting to get someone interested in them. Since it's clear the message ain't getting through, let me be blunt: It ...

Re: No Experience = No Job, but No Job=No Experience

Sure, I'll take a stab at it. Realistically you should have begun the job search two years ago by building relationships with the stations in your local market and beyond. Radio is more of a "who you know" than "what you know" business. Ads generally are out there to satisfy EEO requirements; over 9...

Re: News-talk

You didn't say where you are, but wherever it is start by trying to land a board op or phone screener gig at a N/T station. And consider unpaid work as experience will get you where you need to go. Unfortunately online experience doesn't count for much. Finally, if you don't already have a website w...

Re: Radio Station TV Commercials

Filmhouse used to be the biggie when it came to TV spots for radio. They're at filmhouse.com

You might want to check the "Industry Directory" on AA for some other companies.

And yes, if you roll your own you'll have to get licensing for the music you use.

Re: Situations Wanted Has Become AA's Most Entertaining Sect

I don't know if I'd call it "entertaining"...more like "sad". Virtually all the SW ads are from folks who have no idea how to market themselves. If you're trying to get someone to be interested in you, putting things like "demos on request" or "I'm ready to talk to you", writing your life story in a...
