Re: A technical question...

Just buy the M-Audio interface for $70 and call it a day....you'll be very happy with the results, I promise.

Re: A technical question...

Depends on your mic. These days, there are quite a few USB mics that sound pretty decent, just plug in and go. I have a mic that requires phantom power and have been using the audio interface from M-Audio for years. Love it. I have a DBX pre amp, but don't really need it. And a mixer just really isn...

Re: 5 jobs for one salary - Really?

Thanks, Carter. And I don't take offense, what I posted is just a nibble on my biscuit. I was "let go" from CC in a major market when I was 8 months pregnant. Managed to hold it together for 4 years doing voiceover and teaching at CSB. When this job came up less than 2 hours away, I jumped at the ch...

Re: Good to see

Everyone could use a little luck, especially these days and I'm well aware of the "iceberg", thank you. Been doing this for well over 15 years. But who's to say what someone "should" or "shouldn't" do? It's easy to hurl predictions and opinions on a board, and maybe I should leave well enough alone,...

Re: Good to see

So it's okay to insult those of us who have decided (yes, decided to stay in radio) and are compensated, love what we do, love where we work, etc. I take great exception to your post, Jenkins.

Re: 5 jobs for one salary - Really?

When I was starting out in a small market I worked the morning show and was the promotions director. I also worked as the morning co-host, news director, public affiars director and did production for another station years later (and this was in the 90's). Call it luck or divine intervention, I'm ba...

Great place to vent if you have an anonymous handle. Carter's website complete with several photos was easy to find. Just sayin'...

Re: Web Resumes

Just remember that what you post here (as with Facebook and other social networking sites) can and will be read by perspective employers. Who's to say if you're going to get into a pissing match on a radio board you won't do it in the boss's office?

Re: Web Resumes

Can't speak to anyone else but me, but my website resume worked well. It got me at least one interview and I think possibly the job that I have currently as the PD was able to see me and all my info right away, unlike the 200 or so other applicants that all had the same basic package (BTW, I never m...
