My Internet Radio Audience

Post by rogerwimmer » Thu Apr 28, 2011 10:47 am

Hey Doc: I need your help. I have a very well put together Internet radio show that sounds like an FM radio show, but the problem is I only have three listeners. Can you help me with ways to promote the show to bring in more listeners? Free, of course, would be the best or the most cost effective. Thanks Doc. - Anonymous

Anon: Three listeners, eh? Well, one advantage is that a perceptual study or focus groups to find out what your listeners want to hear wouldn't cost much to conduct. Sorry . . .on to your question . . .

You obviously need to promote your show/station and the only free approaches that come to mind are: (1) Send an email to friends and relatives with your link and ask them to forward your note to other people in their address books; (2) Send your link to friends you have on one or more of the social network sites such as Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter (other sites are listed here); and (3) Submit your link to websites that list Internet radio stations, which you can find in this search.

Good luck and don't give up.
